Mysuru: Garlanding of statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Town Hall premises marked Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations in city this morning.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abhiram G. Sankar garlanded Dr. Ambedkar’s statue at a programme organised by the District Administration, in which Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO K. Jyothi, City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Shilpa Nag and other officials were present.
The Karnataka English Band, led by Band Master B. Manjunath, played music as a mark of tribute to the ‘Father of the Constitution.’
Later, MLA Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah, former Mayor Purushottam, MLC Marithibbegowda, Minister Sathish Jarkiholi, District Minister G.T. Devegowda, former Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevapa, MLA B. Sriramulu, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, leaders K.V. Mallesh, SBM Manju, Kagalawadi Shivanna and a host of other political leaders, members of Associations and organisations garlanded the statue.
Singer Amma Ramachandra presented a musical tribute to the ‘Father of the Constitution’ by singing songs on Dr. Ambedkar at Town Hall.
