Dr. AVN’s book ‘Studies in South Indian Coins’ released

Mysore/Mysuru: Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar of the Mysore Royal Family released the book ‘Studies in South Indian Coins Vol.- XXX 2021’ written by Dr. A.V. Narasimhamurthy (AVN), General Secretary of South Indian Numismatic Society (SINS), at a function organised by SINS, Chennai, at Mysore Palace premises in city yesterday.

Speaking after releasing the book, Yaduveer said that the book sheds light on the understanding of nation’s history, that too South Indian history. “It is not an easy job to do historical research and doing research on coins is a tougher job. This book written by Dr. AVN, who is also former Head, Department of Ancient History & Archaeology, University of Mysore, is a treasure and provides an insight into the history, tradition and collection of coins apart from the administration of the erstwhile rulers including Wadiyar Dynasty,” he said.

Neuro Surgeon from Hyderabad Dr.D. Rajareddy, Retd. Director of Archaeology, Government of Kerala Dr.T. Sathyamurthy, Mysore Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya, ,  President of SINS Rajalakshmi Krishnamurthy, were present at the book release function.
