Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Jayadev Betkerur, Professor, Department of Dermatology, JSS Medical College, Mysuru, took over as National President of Indian Association of Dermatologist, Venereologists and Leprologist (IADVL) from Dr. Kiran Godse at the 49th Annual Conference of IADVL, E- DERMACON 21, held from Feb.5 to 7 at Bengaluru.
The Honorary Secretary General of the Association is Dr. K. Feroz of Kannur and Treasurer Dr. S.V. Rakesh of Calicut. IADVL is an association representing more than 13,000 Skin Specialists of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jayadev Betkerur requested all the members of IADVL to extend support in fulfilling the theme of the Association for the year 2021 “IADVL for Community and Member Welfare.”
As part of this theme, IADVL focuses on Educating, Enlightening and Emancipating the community about various skin related issues like epidemic of Fungal infection, Abuse and misuse of Steroids, harmful effects of over the counter treatments, misconception of diseases like vitiligo, leprosy and seeking help from qualified dermatologists rather than unqualified people.
The member welfare measures include helping them in need like illnesses, accidents and untimely death.
