Gadag: Jnanpith awardee Dr. Chandrashekhara Kambara has been unanimously selected to chair the 84th  Akhila Bharatha Kannada Sahitya Sammelana scheduled to be held at Dharwad from Dec. 7 to 9 this year. A decision to this effect was taken at the Executive Committee meeting of Kannada Sahitya Parishat here on Thursday.

Speaking to press persons after the meeting, Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Manu Baligar said  the names of more than 10 writers were proposed to chair the Kannada Literary Meet but members eventually chose Dr. Kambara, recognising his contributions to the growth of Kannada literature.

He said the Sammelana will be held at Karnataka College following demand from public and litterateurs.

Presently, Dr. Kambara is the Chairman of Kendra Sahitya Academy.
