Dr. M.V. Shanthakumar (78), senior ophthalmologist and a resident of Deewan’s Road, passed away yesterday evening in city.
He had also served as the President of Gommatagiri Kshetra Samithi and Mahaveer Vidya Samsthe, former President of Mysuru Ophthalmologists Association, Vice-President of Vachakanahalli Brahmadeva Samithi, member of Pinjrapole and Immediate Past President of Jain Milan.
He leaves behind his son Santosh Kumar Jain, daughter-in-law Chethana, grandchildren Smarana and Saanvi and a host of relatives and friends.
Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill this afternoon.
