Dr. N. Prakash Gowda takes charge as Mysuru DCP

Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. N. Prakash Gowda, who was transferred as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Law and Order, Mysuru, took charge last evening.

Dr. Prakash, who was serving as Hassan Superintendent of Police (SP), was transferred without posting in August 2019. Later, he was given the posting as a DCP in place of DCP                                                                   M. Muthuraj. But the Government stayed the transfer order and ordered Muthuraj to continue following which Dr. Prakash Gowda approached Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal (KSAT). 

Following the KSAT order, Dr. Prakash Gowda took charge as Mysuru DCP on Dec. 16, 2019. Later, DCP Muthuraj, questioning the KSAT order, approached the High Court and obtained a stay and again took over as the DCP.

Meanwhile, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms Under-Secretary Robin                                                                                                Vanaraj, based on the KSAT order, has transferred DCP M. Muthuraj and appointed Dr. N. Prakash Gowda in his (Muthuraj’s) place.
