The Vachana Sahitya Conservation Day, commemorating Dr. P.G. Halakatti’s birth anniversary, will be celebrated in a meaningful way on July 2 at B.M. Sri auditorium in Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS), Manasagangothri, here under the joint auspices of District Administration, Kannada and Culture Department and KIKS.

District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa will inaugurate the celebrations and the seminar at 10 am. Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda will preside.

A preliminary meeting in this connection was held at the DC’s office auditorium under the chairmanship of  Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. P. Shivaraju recently.

Addressing the meeting he instructed officials of Department of Kannada and Culture to make necessary arrangements.

Kannada and Culture Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan, who spoke at the meeting, said that singing programme has been organised by various art troupes on the occasion.
