Dr. P. Jayaramaiah commemorative volume release tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Dr. P. Jayaramaiah-Obba Vyaktiyalla, Shakti’, a commemorative volume dedicated to Dr. P. Jayaramaiah, a former University of Mysore faculty and who has made a lot of contribution for the education of the rural poor, will be released at a programme to take place at Hotel Pai Vista on B-N Road opposite KSRTC Sub-urban bus stand at 11 am tomorrow (Aug.18).

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, former KSOU  Vice-Chancellor Dr. N.S. Ramegowda said that former MLA Vasu and he (Dr. Ramegowda) will release the 200-page book, which contains 30 articles.

Former Special Secretary to the Government of Karnataka Dr. P. Boregowda will preside. MLC Madhu Madegowda and former Goa Government Chief Planning Officer Dr. S.T. Puttaraju will release the e-Book, he said adding that MLA C.S. Puttaraju and noted orator Prof. M. Krishnegowda will launch the documentary.

Dr. Ramegowda further said that former KSOU and UoM Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Rangappa and former UoM Prasaranga Director Prof. K.T. Veerappa will be the guests of honour on the occasion.

Dr. P. Jayaramiah, who was born in 1935, had served the University of Mysore (UoM) as a Geography Professor for 35 years. He is a native of Naguvinahalli in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district.

Prof. K.T. Veerappa, Dr. Chandrashekar, Dr. Rangaswamy and Bookanakere Vijendra were present at the press meet.
