Dr. Padmavathi Narasimhan to perform at RAAGA on 21st

Raaga Music Academy has the well-known music critic, author and performer   Dr. Padmavathi Narasimhan giving a vocal recital on Saturday (Oct. 21) at 5.30 pm at Prajna Kuteera Ayurveda Centre, Vishwamanava Double Road, Kuvempunagar.

Dr. Padmavathi, daughter of well-known Gamaki and freedom fighter M.N. Ananthanarayana Iyengar and musician M.A. Sitamma, learnt her music from Gurus Vid. Venkateshiah of Holenarasipur, Vidu. Koviladi Kala and Vidu. M.S. Sheela. A Post Graduate in English Literature, she is a Gold Medallist in M. Music from the Mysore University. She has qualifications in Gamakas and Devaranamas from the  Gamaka Kala Parishat, Bengaluru. A Ph.D from the Mysore University, she is also a holder of B. Ed from the Annamalai University.

This cerebral performer has also published articles in international online journals, done paper presentations and lecture demonstrations at various music conferences. As a music critic, her reviews are regularly published by leading newspapers. She has composed Varnas, Kritis and Devaranamas. She has performed in various Sabhas and Music Festivals including the Durbar Hall of Mysore Palace.

On Saturday, she is being accompanied by Vid. K.T. Udayakiran on violin, Vid. Kumaraswamy on mridanga and Vid. S. Manjunath on ghatam.
