‘Puttaraja Sammana-2018’ for Vid. R.K. Padmanabha
Mysuru: Dr. Puttaraja Gawai Pratishtana, Dharwad, in association with Kannada and Culture Department, Bengaluru, has organised Padma Bhushan Dr. Puttaraja Gawai’s 105th Birth Anniversary Music Festival at Kalamandira premises in city at 6 pm on Mar.3.
On the occasion, ‘Puttaraja Sammana-2018’ will be conferred on Vid. R.K. Padmanabha (Bengaluru).
International violinist Vid. Dr. M. Manjunath will be the chief guest. KSGH Music and Performing Arts University VC Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar will preside over the inaugural.
Music concerts
Hindustani Music by Sripad Hegde Somanamane (Sirsi), accompanied by Veerabhadraiah Hiremath (Mysuru) – samvadini and Bhimashankara Bidanur (Mysuru) – tabla; Karnatak Music by Vid. R.K. Padmanabha (Bengaluru), accompanied by Vid. C.N. Chandrashekar (Bengaluru) – violin, Vid. C. Chaluvaraj (Bengaluru) – mridanga and Vid. Ramanujan (Bengaluru) – ghata, according to a press release from the Pratishtana.
