Mysore/Mysuru: A week-long Nruthya Saptaha, an International Dance Festival, will be held from Apr.14 at Ganabharathi’s Ramagovinda Kalavedike in Kuvempunagar, said T.S. Srilakshmi Kumar of Sri Uma Maheshwara Nruthya Kalakshetra Trust.
The Dance Fest is being organised to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Uma Maheshwara Nruthya Kalakshetra, JP Nagar 1st Stage in city.
Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the inaugural event which will be inaugurated by noted danseuse Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy of Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre at 6 pm today.
A souvenir titled ‘Somamrutha Yaana’ and biography ‘Natyayaana’ will be released on the occasion.
Art patron Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy and Kannada Rajyotsava awardee Natyacharya Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao will be the chief guests.
At 7 pm today, ‘Krishnanubhava,’ a solo dance will be presented by Sharika Kaushik.
Apr.15 – 5.45 pm to 9 pm: Kathak and other dance programmes; Apr.16 – 5.45 pm to 9 pm: Dance recitals; Apr.17 – 10 am to 2 pm: Workshop on Make-up, 5.45 pm: Dance and other cultural programmes.
Apr.18 – 9.45 am: ‘Aptara Antardhwani’ and other special programmes, 5.30 pm onwards: Dance and cultural programmes.
