Bengaluru: The name of Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade is doing the rounds for the nomination to the President’s post, said a source from the Karnataka RSS. A Chennai-based Economist M.R. Venkatesh has also tweeted on Monday night “Will Heggade be the President?”

Reacting to this, Dr. Heggade said that he did not have any information in this regard. “No one has contacted me. For me, the Manjunatha Peetha is the highest seat. I cannot leave Manjunatha Peetha and go,” he delicately revealed.

The BJP National President Amit Shah has appointed a three-member Committee to select a candidate for the Presidential election. Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu and Arun Jaitley have taken the responsibility to select the candidate. The name of Heggade has still not come up. Even the Dharmasthala administration has not confirmed the name of the Dharmadikari.

The election to the President’s post will be held on July 17.
