Mysuru: Dr. Wahida Sultana (70), retired Professor, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Mangalore University and a resident of Kalyangiri, passed away following a heart attack at a private hospital in city yesterday.
She had served as a Professor at Mangalore University for over three decades, Head of the Department, Warden of the Women’s Hostel and Co-ordinator for IAS-KAS coaching. She had also served as the Deputy Director of Asian Congress for Media and Communication National Committee.
She had authored many books pertaining to media, health, technology and women issues besides delivering talks at international seminars in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong.
She leaves behind her husband, two brothers, three sisters and a host of relatives and friends. Burial took place this afternoon in city.
