381 cases registered in city; 91 in district
Mysore/Mysuru: Police, who are acting tough on vehicles with bright LED headlights which are blinding other motorists leading to accidents, some times fatal, are conducting drives against such bright headlights across the district.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Training, Traffic and Road Safety, Alok Kumar, who has shared the information on his ‘X’ account has stated that, the Police have registered 381 cases in Mysuru city and 91 cases in the district against motorists who had installed bright headlights to their vehicles.
The Police had banned installation of bright headlights to vehicles, as they used to blind the vision of motorists coming in the opposite direction leading to accidents. They had also issued warnings to remove the bright headlights and install the prescribed bulbs of correct brightness before July 1.
As motorists did not heed to the warning, the Police, who conducted drives from July 1 to 7 in city and district have registered 381 cases in city and 91 cases in the district.
Also, 60 cases were registered in Mandya, 105 cases in Hassan, 193 cases in Kodagu and 269 cases were registered against motorists in Chamarajanagar. Bengaluru stands on top with 3,354 cases.
In all, from July 1 to 7, a total of 8,244 cases have been registered in the State, ADGP Alok Kumar has stated.
