Drive against motorists ignoring traffic violation notices intensified

Rs. 2,14,800 fine collected in 1,487 cases

Mysuru: Devaraja Traffic Police, who conducted a special drive on Dec. 18 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm against motorists who had ignored traffic violation notices sent via post, have collected a total of Rs. 2,14,800 as penalty in 1,487 cases.

On the same day, the Cops, who conducted a drive against drunken driving from 8.30 pm to 12.30 am at various points in city, have booked 29 cases and have submitted a charge-sheet against them to the Court besides recommending the cancellation of Driving Licences of the offenders.

City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna has requested those who have received traffic violation notices to voluntarily pay the fine and save their precious time during checking of vehicles by Traffic Police.
