Dronacharya Award recipient Beedu takes fitness session for PE teachers in city

V.R. Beedu, athletics coach, the Dronacharya award winner in 2018 for his lifetime achievement in athletics coaching, conducted a session of fitness training to the Physical Education (PE) teachers from the State last evening at the University Sports Pavilion.

The PE teachers are attending a UGC-sponsored 21-day Refresher’s Course on Physical Education, conducted by the DoS in Physical Education and Sports Sciences (PES), University of Mysore (UoM).

The B.PEd students and athletes too took part in the two-hour fitness session conducted by Beedu, who demonstrated different exercises for different sports activities. He also stressed the need for the sports persons and the PE teachers to practice the same to maintain good health and also to enhance their performance.

The organisers had invited V.R. Beedu to give the teachers and B.PEd students a hands-on exposure on the vital fitness exercises.

Beedu feted

Beedu also conducted a session this morning for the students who are attending the Refresher’s course. On this occasion, the Mysore District Athletics Association (MDAA) felicitated Beedu for his achievements.

Former Intl. athlete and MDAA President Somashekar, Hon. Secretary Srikanth and other office-bearers were also present. He was also felicitated by the DoS in PES on the occasion.
