Drunk driving checks to be intensified twice a week

Mysore/Mysuru: With Dasara round the corner, Traffic Police, who are conducting checking for various traffic violations will be conducting drunk driving checking twice a week across the city.

Drunk driving checking is being conducted on every Wednesdays and Saturdays and in case there is bandobust duty on Wednesday, checking for drunk driving is being conducted on Thursday.  An average of 25 to 30 cases pertaining to driving under the influence of alcohol is being registered daily and the Police are seizing the vehicles and Driving Licence (DL) of drivers and riders besides issuing notices.

The Police are releasing the seized vehicles only when the offenders produce the receipt of the fine paid by them in Court.

The Traffic Police are conducting checking from 8 pm to 11 pm at various places across the city including Manipal Hospital Junction, LIC Circle, Milk Dairy Circle in Siddarthanagar, Karanji Lake junction on Lalitha Mahal Road, near the Vegetable Market on M.G. Road, Old RMC Circle on Sayyaji Rao Road, near old DC Office, Kukkarahalli Lake Junction on Bogadi Road, near Aishwarya Petrol Bunk on Hunsur Road, Ring Road near Hinkal and Royal Inn Junction on KRS Road.
