Drunken Brawl

  • Man allegedly pushed to death from second floor of pub in Vijayanagar
  • Police take one person into custody; four others absconding

Mysore/Mysuru: A man died on the spot after he was allegedly pushed from the second floor of a building in Vijayanagar here last night.

The deceased has been identified as Nishanth (30), a resident of Gokulam. Nishanth, who was earlier working at a private company in Bengaluru, was jobless at present and was searching for a job.

Yesterday night, Nishanth, along with two of his friends, went to a pub in Vijayanagar and were consuming liquor, when a fight broke out between them and five others, who were also consuming liquor and seated in the  opposite table.

Soon, wordy duel ensued between Nishanth and five others and in a fit of rage they allegedly pushed Nishanth from the second floor of the pub building resulting in his death on the spot. His two friends fled from the place.

On being informed, Vijayanagar Police reached the spot, took one person into custody for questioning, registered a case and are on the lookout for four other absconding persons. 

Nishanth’s body was shifted to Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) mortuary yesterday.

Post-mortem was being conducted this noon following which the body will be handed over to the family members.
