DSS holds protest against Centre’s ban on cow slaughter

Hits out at MCC for its failure to control dengue

Mysuru: Protesting against the Centre’s ban on cow slaughter and the failure of MCC officials in controlling the spread of dengue, the members of Karnataka Rajya Dalita Sangarsha Samithi staged a protest in front of the DC’s office here yesterday.

The protesters alleged that BJP-led NDA Government was destroying democracy by harassing minorities, Dalits and the poor by framing new laws on cow slaughter.

They demanded the State Government not to implement the ban on cow slaughter.

The protesters also staged a dharna against the MCC officials for not taking effective measures to control the spread of dengue.

They said that dengue was on rise in city especially in places where Pourakarmikas reside and alleged that the MCC authorities had turned a blind eye in these places. They demanded the State Government to take disciplinary action on such negligent officials.

Samithi’s Divisional Convenor Devagalli Somashekar, District Convenor Belavatha Ramachandra and City Convenor V. Ganesh led the protest.
