DSS warns of Dasara boycott

October 16, 2018

Mysuru:  Urging the State Government to immediately implement the SC/ST Promotion Act, the Dalitha Sangrasha Samithi (DSS) has warned of boycotting Dasara procession if the government failed to do so.

Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, DSS office-bearer Choranahalli Shivanna alleged that some vested interest were coming in the way of the implementation of the Act, that facilitates promotion of SC/ST employees in government service based on seniority.

Accusing the government of dilly dallying on the implementation of the Act, he threatened to boycott Dasara procession on Vijayadashami day and also launch protest if the government fails to render justice to Dalit community. He however, refused to disclose the nature of protests.

DSS office-bearers K.V. Devendra, Mahadevaiah and others were present at the press meet.
