The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) will conduct the selection of sportspersons for its sports schools and hostels for the year 2022-23  next month (January 2022).

Selection for boys and girls will be held for athletics, basketball, football, gymnastics, hockey, judo, volleyball, wrestling and swimming under junior and senior categories. Applicants under the juniors’ category must be under fourteen years of age (as on June 1, 2022) and eligible to be admitted to class 8 for the academic year 2022-23. Candidates under eighteen years (as on June 1, 2022) and eligible for first year Pre-University (2022-23) will be considered under the senior category.

For juniors, the first stage of selection will be held between Jan. 3 and Jan. 13, 2022 in eight taluks of Mysuru district — Mysuru (Jan. 3 & 4 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium; contact Athletics Coach K.N. Balu – 97319-34937) and T. Narasipur (Jan. 12 & 13; Hockey Coach R. Sundaresh – 98444-87796). Second stage selection will be held on Jan. 21 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in city.

The first stage of selection of seniors for the State-level will be held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium on Jan.22 from 9 am onwards. Here, the candidates selected in the Taluk-level must submit the filled application form (provided on selection in Taluk-level) and health certificate with a recent photograph.
