Mysuru: To mark National Reading Day, KNC Innovative Global School (KNCIGS) inaugurated a state-of-the-art Digital Library at its campus in Hebbal Industrial Area, Mysuru, recently.
In all, 45,000 titled books are available for students to refer on various subjects like literature, arts, science, humanities, philosophy and psychology.
The cutting-edge facility was jointly inaugurated by a panel of dignitaries, including Dr. Rajesh Sachdev, former Director of the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru and Prof. Preeth Padmanabhan Nambiar, a renowned author, educationist and humanitarian. Dr. K.N. Chandrasekhar, Founder and Chairman of KNCIGS, presided. School Principal B. Joseph Frank, Chief Librarian H.S. Preethi, teaching and non-teaching staff members and students were present.
Dr. Rajesh Sachdev highlighted the evolving nature of language and literacy in the digital era, praising the school for blending traditional reading values with modern technology.
Prof. Preeth Padmanabhan spoke on the humanitarian value of reading, noting that access to global literature fosters empathy, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the human mind.
The inauguration concluded with a guided tour of the digital interface for the faculty and student representatives, showcasing how seamlessly the vast library can be navigated for daily academic excellence.
