e-Khata initiative: Towards citizen-friendly governance

Sir,

On behalf of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) Mysore, we had the opportunity to meet the Regional Commissioner and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Administrator Nitesh Patil and MCC Commissioner M.K. Savitha and bring to their attention various hardships faced by citizens and property owners concerning e-Khata, plan sanctions, Completion Reports and other civic-related processes.

Both officers patiently heard our concerns and assured us of taking necessary steps towards providing speedy relief.

In continuation of these interactions, several issues relating to the Unified Land Management System (ULMS) have already been addressed, while a few more are in the process of being resolved.

We are particularly happy to see the MCC take up the e-Khata Abhiyan, which has witnessed an encouraging response, with 590 Khatas issued out of 730 applications on a single day.

This is indeed a commendable citizen-centric initiative. We sincerely appreciate the proactive efforts of MCC Revenue Deputy Commissioner G.S. Somashekar and the entire team of officials and staff of MCC in making this initiative a success.

Such progressive, proactive and people-oriented initiatives must continue and increase, bringing greater ease, transparency and efficiency to citizens, taxpayers and property owners.
