Mysore/Mysuru: Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, inaugurated ‘e-Yantra – Embedded Systems & Robotic Lab’ funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) via video-conference on Nov. 5, in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B), Mumbai.
Principal Investigator Prof.Kavi Arya inaugurated the NIE e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory via video-conference. He spoke on importance of entrepreneurship – that is, we should keep on reinventing ourselves and embrace change. He highlighted on Entrepreneurship which is not just starting a business, it needs to be in time with what will happen in future and prepare ourselves and our students accordingly.
He spoke about Atmanirbhar Bharat and entrepreneurship. This was followed by lighting of lamp through Raspberry pi IoT (virtually using an App developed by ECE Department). Official signage board of the Lab given by IIT-B was also unveiled.
Dr.NarasimhaKaulgud, Professor and HoD, ECE, NIE, presided. Patrons of the event are Dr.RohiniNagapadma, Principal, NIE, Dr. N.V. Raghavendra, Vice-Principal, NIE and Dr. K.R. Prakash, Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, NIE. Organising members were Dr. C. Anjanappa, M.K. Vishwanath, Dr. C. Nagaraju, B.S. Sharmila, M.S. Deepthi and R. Mythri.
