Mysuru: A retired Group Captain of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Dr. Vinay Vittal, stated that India’s resounding success in Operation Sindoor, a recent military strike against Pakistan, has drawn global attention to the nation’s defence prowess.
He was delivering a talk titled “Operation Sindoor: An Overview” at an event organised by the Institution of Engineers (India), Mysuru Local Centre at its premises on JLB Road in Mysuru recently.
Highlighting the precision strikes carried out by Indian Armed Forces on nine terror camps and bases in Pakistan following the Pahalgam massacre, Dr. Vittal said the world has been astonished by India’s military capabilities. He noted a growing international interest in India’s missile and air defence systems, adding that the country’s bold action has left global powers mesmerised.
“The character of India’s Armed Forces has changed significantly since 2014. The Indian Air Force is now equipped with cutting-edge Rafale jets and advanced weaponry. The end of corruption in defence procurement since 2014 has strengthened our military further,” he asserted.
Dr. Vittal credited massive civilian support as a morale booster for the Armed Forces. “Operation Sindoor is unlike any previous conflict with Pakistan. Our indigenous defence systems are striking with pinpoint accuracy, showcasing India’s technological expertise,” he said.
He also emphasised the strategic importance of India suspending the Indus Waters Treaty in the aftermath of the strike, calling it a powerful message to Pakistan.
“Earlier, India’s response to terror attacks was limited to condemnation. But Operation Sindoor has shown the world that India now responds with decisive action,” he remarked.
Dr. Vittal praised the Union Government for declaring that any future terror attack on Indian soil will be treated as an act of war.
The talk concluded with an interactive session.
Institution of Engineers (India), Mysuru Centre Chairman Dr. R. Deepu, office-bearers Dr. S.A. Mohan Krishna, B.S. Prabhakara, B.V. Ravindranath and others were present.
