Mysore/Mysuru: Veteran Kannada writer Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK) said “Every student and teacher should be an ascetic to reach the goal of their life.”
He was speaking after inaugurating Kuvempu Shikshana Chetana Award ceremony and staging of children’s play, by beating the drum at Kuvempu Rangamandira in Vivekananda PU College premises, Jayalakshmipuram at the programme organised by Adamya Rangashale on Saturday.
“Education should be creative rather than being productive and accumulative. Hence the faculty at Universities should inculcate world conscience along with creative ability among students. The teacher should remain a student till the end and should practice whatever they impart to the students. Their conduct should be like igniting the soul of the students,” said CPK.
“We should have a wide vision and Science and Arts should be our eyes. If Science is a tool for material growth, Art is the tool for achievement. The students of Science should also study Arts and so also the students of Arts study Science. Such a co-ordination among students is necessary,” he observed.
Presiding over the programme, Director of Mysore University Prasaranga Prof. Nanjaiah Honganur said “The organisations should identify talents among neglected communities and encourage them. Adamya Rangashale’s initiative of creating awareness about theatre among children and providing a suitable platform for their talent should get people’s support.”
Secretary of Adamya Rangashale Satish Jawaregowda delivered the introductory address. Lion D.S. Satish of The Nest Trust was the chief guest.

Srivatsa.
Children of Adamya Rangashale staged the play ‘Uyyo Uyyo Maleraya’ written by Krishnamurthy Biligere.
