Mysore/Mysuru: Traditionally, 3 Karnataka Girls Bn NCC, under the aegis of NCC Group Mysuru, used to conduct the Ek Bharat Shrest Bharat (EBSB) Camp every year in Mysuru.
However this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event is being organised as a webinar called ‘EK Bharat Shrest Bharat Saptah.’ The webinar will be held from 10 am to 1 pm every day from Aug. 10 to 15.
This is a maiden effort at the National-level for the NCC Group Mysuru, though this year’s Kargil Vijay Diwas was also organised as a webinar at the local-level.
A total of 100 NCC cadets belonging to Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh will take part in the event as guests while an equal number from Karnataka & Goa NCC Directorate will attend the event.
Due to the requirement of uninterrupted and robust internet connection, a central class room has been organised at JSS Polytechnic for Women, JSS Technical Campus, thanks to the co-operation of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru.
The aim of the webinar will be to foster a spirit of national integration and solidarity by breaking cultural, religious, geographical, environmental and linguistic barriers and learn about each other’s cultural heritage.
To make the webinar interesting a few competitions like debate, and quiz are also being added. One day has been earmarked for Life Skills Training by EXPA, an association of Ex-NCC cadets. On the last day, which also happens to be the Independence Day, a motivational lecture is scheduled by Dr. R. Balasubramaniam of VLEAD, Mysuru. The highlight of the webinar will be presentations or classes being conducted by Cadets themselves.
All participants will be issued with e-certificates. Cash prizes for the competitions will be sent directly to the bank account of the winners as DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), according to a press release from Col. K.C. Iyappa of NCC Group Mysuru.
