Elderly lady suffocated to death, daughter-in-law, grandchildren arrested

Mysore/Mysuru: Hebbal Police have arrested a woman and her children for suffocating an elderly woman to death. While the victim has been identified as Nanjamma (72), the accused are the deceased’s daughter-in-law Nagamma, grandson Siddapaji and granddaughter Sitara, residents of Hebbal near Abhishek Circle. They had suffocated Nanjamma to death using a pillow on Oct. 3.

After the death of Nanjamma’s son, Nagamma and her children had made Nanjamma stay separately on 2nd floor while they stayed on first floor. Following the death of Nanjamma, Hebbal Inspector K.R. Prasad, who had registered a case of suspicious death, had shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem and the report revealed that Nanjamma was suffocated to death. The Inspector, who then began the investigation, came to know that Nagamma and her children had committed the crime and arrested them.
