Mysuru: An elderly man, who had sustained serious injuries when a truck hit him while he was crossing the road Tuesday morning, succumbed to injuries at K.R. Hospital Tuesday evening.

The accident took place at about 8.45 am on Tuesday in Varuna Police limits and the deceased has been identified as Venkatashetty (90), a resident of Harohalli village in the taluk.

Venkatashetty was crossing the road in front of his house when a truck (KA-25-AA-5238), which was proceeding from Mysuru to Malavalli side hit him resulting in Venkatashetty sustaining serious injuries.

The injured elderly man was rushed to a private hospital in city, where he was provided treatment and was later shifted to K.R. Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries the same day evening .

Varuna Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
