Mysore/Mysuru: Former Mayor P. Vishwanath, who is also the Secretary of Vidyavardhaka Sangha, was elected as the new Vice-President and retired Vijaya Bank employee Somnath as the Treasurer of the city-based H.C. Dasappa Institute of Public Affairs at its 51st Annual General Body Meeting held recently.
Currently, Dr. K. Mahadev is serving as the President and Saroja Tulasidas as Secretary of the Institute.
The meeting discussed in detail about the plans and funds for completing the hostel building (first floor) being constructed at the Institute’s site on Maruti Mandira Road in T.K. Layout. The meeting also decided to increase the number of Executive Committee members from the present 12 to 15.
Vidyavardhaka Sangha President Gundappa Gowda, K.H. Ramaiah Hostel Dharmadarshi K.T. Krishnappa, Amaresh Das, Marigowda, Shivalingaiah, Uma Ramesh, Dr. P. Sudarshan, Mahima Champa, Mohan Das, S. Prakash Babu and others took part in the meeting. For details, contact Mob: 98454-02278.
Satyanarayana said, Swamiji is patronising the Sangha for the past several years. Earlier too, Annapoorna Mandira was donated in memory of Swamiji’s mother Maata Jayalakshmi Amma. Now, the Solar Grid, which will be most useful to students.
