Power supply restored in KC and JC Layouts

Mysore/Mysuru: Yesterday’s heavy rainfall has uprooted six electric poles in city and surrounding places.

About six electric poles had got uprooted near CFTRI, Kadakola and Siddalingapura as tree branches fell on power cables bringing down the poles while a few poles got uprooted due to heavy rain and wind.

CESC staff, who swung into action immediately, got the tree branches cleared, connected power cables and installed new poles. Power supply was restored after completion of the repair works.

Meanwhile, K.C. Layout and J.C. Nagar at the foot of Chamundi Hill had plunged into darkness since yesterday night following heavy downpour.

CESC Kuvempunagar Division Superintending Engineer S. Nagesh, speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, said that there were faults with power cables and hence, power was disrupted.

The faults have been rectified this morning and power supply has been restored, he added.
