Elephants trample woman to death

Suntikoppa (Kodagu): An elderly woman, who had been for a walk, has been trampled to death by a herd of elephants at Modur Estate in Suntikoppa Police limits last evening.

The deceased is Neena Muthanna (76), wife of late Biddanda K. Muthanna, former President of Karnataka Planters Association. She leaves behind a son and two daughters. Sources said that Neena went for a walk in Modur Estate, located at the backwaters of Harangi Reservoir last evening and as she did not return even after 8 pm, her family members went in search of her and found her body trampled by elephants at the estate.

A case has been registered at Suntikoppa Police Station.
