Mysore/Mysuru: Udayagiri Police have arrested a man on charge of stealing 164 grams gold ornaments worth Rs. 3.60 lakh and Rs. 90,000 cash from his employer’s house and have recovered the stolen gold and Rs. 50,000 cash from him.
The burglary took place at the house of Selvaraj at K.N. Pura in Udayagiri Police limits.
Selvaraj, who owns a shop, had employed three to four workers. On June 20, only one worker had come to work. On the same day afternoon, Selvaraj’s son had gone home along with the worker and returned to the shop after having his lunch. Later, Selvaraj went home for lunch and after having lunch, he, along with his wife, came to the shop after locking the house.
At about 9 pm, after closing the shop for the day, Selvaraj and his wife came home only to find the front door opened and on entering the house, they found empty jewellery boxes scattered on the floor.
On inspecting further, they found 164 gram gold jewellery and Rs. 90,000 cash stolen and they immediately lodged a complaint at Udayagiri Police Station.
The Police, who registered a case, traced the accused employee and arrested him.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Shanthamallappa guided Udayagiri Inspector K.N. Sudhakar, Sub-Inspectors C.N. Sunil, H.M. Anand, B.G. Nagaraju Naika and C.M. Roopesh and staff Siddiqi Ahmed, Prakash, Mallikarjun, Chowgule, Santosh Pawar, Sameer Patel Biradar and Nazia Shariff in the nabbing and recovery operation.
