Mysuru: The Educational Multi-Media Research Centre (EMRC) of University of Mysore has bagged two National Awards at the 22nd All India Children’s Educational Audio-Video Festival and ICT Mela 2018 held at Bhopal.
The documentary film ‘Millets for next generation – Climate smart agriculture’ produced and directed by P.H. Chandra Kumar and Shreeharsha M. Kulenur of EMRC, Mysuru, has been awarded ‘Best Research’ and the award was received by Dr. Chandra Nayak at the 22nd All India Children’s Educational Audio-Video Festival and ICT Mela 2018 organised by CIET (Central Institution of Educational Technology), NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training), New Delhi.
It also won special jury award in the 8th National Science Film Festival-2018 which was held at Guwahati University, Assam, organised by Vigyan Prasar.
The second documentary film ‘Rejuvenating Waterholes – The Solar Way, produced and directed S.M. Keerthi Kumar and K. Gopinath of EMRC, Mysuru has been awarded ‘Best Video Programme’ under Senior Secondary category in the 22nd All India Children’s Educational Audio-Video Festival and ICT Mela 2018, organised by CIET, NCERT, New Delhi.
The above two documentaries have been visualised under the guidance of EMRC Director Prof. M.R. Gangadhar.
University of Mysore In-Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. C. Basavaraju has lauded the achievement and said that the award secured by EMRC is one of the parameters in the development agenda of the University of Mysore.
