Mysore/Mysuru: Delay in the completion of drain work on road leading to Santhepet from D. Devaraja Urs Road has irked citizens and traders.
This work on re-building the chocked drain was taken up a few months ago following complaints from the general public. But, this work was progressing in a snail pace and holding up traffic during peak hour. The Urs Road will be busy throughout the day with thousands of vehicles plying. But, now there has not been much traffic following restriction due to lockdown
Arun, a two-wheeler rider and regular user of this Road, has urged the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities to direct the contractor concerned to speed up the work before lockdown was withdrawn.
The MCC officers must visit the spot to see how traffic was held up during busy hours.
Drain work on Devaraja Urs Road began many months ago. The concrete curing work is in progress. We had appealed to previous MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag to speed up work to open this stretch of road for traffic. —Gangadhara Swamy, ACP (Traffic)
