Mysuru: Al Ghouli Mohammed Uahau Ahmed, aged 54 and a resident of Yemen, was suffering from heart related problem for past seven years and had undergone multiple angioplasty and open heart surgery including valve repair surgery. Since his heart was very weak, he was unable to lead his routine life.
Hence, this newer option called CRT-D procedure was done. Here, an advanced triple chamber pacemaker with defibrillator was implanted by minimally invasive procedure. Being fully MRI compatible, the heart function is expected to improve gradually and patient can resume his normal activity.
The team led by Dr. Rajagopal, Chief Cardiologist, Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital, Dr. Yathish, Consultant Cardiologist, Dr. Shridhar, Consultant Cardiologist, Dr. Satwik, Anaesthesiologist and Dr. Vanitha, all from Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital, performed the case successfully.
