Endowment prizes presented

Mysore/Mysuru: The Student Forum of Sarada Vilas College was inaugurated by Swami Muktidanandaji of Ramakrishna Ashram, Mysuru, by lighting the lamp at a function held recently in the Centenary Hall of Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions (SVEI) in Krishnamurthypuram.

Endowment prizes instituted by the alumni, retired professors of the College, and many other donors were distributed to the student achievers on the occasion. 

Addressing the gathering, the Swamiji said students should aim high and reorient their education towards acquiring knowledge and derive happiness out of it. He advised the students to unlock the power of mind. 

Swamiji also said education will give the strength to discriminate between good and bad. 

Dr. Veena Bharathi (extreme right) presented the medal and cash prize to overall highest scorer S. Abhishek (Microbiology and Bio-Technology). H. Satyaprasad, Principal of Vijaya Vittala PU College, is also seen.

Dr. B.M. Subraya, President, SVEI, advised the students to concentrate on their studies. 

Prof. Shashikala, retired Professor of Zoology and Dr. Poornaprajna, an alumnus of the College, gave away cash prizes. Dr. Veena Bharathi from Bengaluru, another proud alumnus of the College, feted the students by giving cash prizes and silver medals to two College toppers. Dr. Veena instituted this prize in 2008 in memory of her mother  Laxmi Ashwath.

 N. Chandrashekar, Hon. Secretary, SVEI was present on the dais. Dr. M. Devika, Principal and also the President of Student Forum, presided. 

Sagar, Vice-President of the Forum welcomed. Ashok, Secretary of Student Forum, proposed a vote of thanks.
