Bengaluru: Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S. Suresh Kumar said that English medium sections will be started in 835 Government Schools across the State from the next academic year (2020-21).
Replying to a query by Vedavyasa Kamath of the BJP during Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Suresh Kumar said that English medium will be started in Government Schools in all assembly segments. Pointing out that English medium sections were introduced in 1,001 Government Schools including Karnataka Public Schools (KPS) starting from 2019-20 academic year, the Minister said that LKG and UKG classes too have been started in 276 KPS and there are no plans of introducing pre-primary classes in Government Schools next academic year.
