The Women and Child Development Department and the Department for Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens have invited applications from individuals and organisations, who have worked and contributed in various fields including helping senior citizens for conferment of State Awards as part of the International Day of Older Persons on Oct. 1. The applicants must have worked in areas such as education, literature, law, sports, social work etc. Selected six individuals and one organisation which has worked for the welfare of senior citizens will be conferred with State Award.

Applications can be obtained from their respective District Disabled Welfare Officer and the filled-in forms must be submitted along with necessary documents before Aug. 21. Those who are submitting applications in Kannada must submit two copies of applications.
