Entries invited from women, children for bravery awards

Mysuru: The Department of Women and Child Welfare has invited entries for presentation of Kittur Rani Chennamma and Veera Mahile Awards for the year 2017-18.

For Kittur Rani Award, the applicant or organisation should have served for a minimum period of five years in the filed of women development, covering sports, art, literature and education.

For Veera Mahile Award, the women should be in the age group of 18 to 45 years and displayed courage in saving the life of a person in danger.

‘Nari Shakthi Puraskar’

The Department of Women and Child Welfare has also invited entries from individuals and organisations who have served for a minimum of five years in the field of women’s development for presentation of ‘Nari Shakthi Puraskar’ established by the Centre to be presented on International Women’s Day on    March 8 next year. Individuals should be above 30 years.

The application forms for both the awards can be obtained from the Office of the Deputy Director, Department of Women and Child Welfare, Sthree Shakti Bhavan, 1st Floor, K.D. Circle, Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, Mysuru.

Bravery award for children

The Indian Council for Child Welfare, New Delhi, has invited entries from children aged between 6 and 18 years who have rescued people in danger unmindful of their safety for the presentation of Bravery Award.

Applications can be obtained from the Deputy Director, Department of Women and Child Welfare, Sthree Shakti Bhavan, 1st Floor, K.D. Circle, Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, Mysuru and submit before Sept. 30 to the President, Karnataka State Child Protection Society, 135, 3rd Cross, Nandi Durga Road, Jayamahal Extension, Bengaluru-560046.
