Entry restricted to Vontikoppal Temple on Shravana Saturdays

Mysore/Mysuru: Due to rising number of Corona cases in city, the District Administration has decided to restrict entry of devotees to Sri Lakshmivenkataramanaswamy Temple (Srinivasa Temple) on KRS Road, Vontikoppal, in city on Saturdays in Shravana month.

In a press release issued by Mysuru City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta, the entry to the temple is restricted to devotees on the following days: (Shravana Saturdays) From July 24, 6 pm to July 26, 5 am; from July 31, 6 pm to Aug. 2, 5 am; from Aug. 7, 6 pm to Aug. 9, 5 am and Aug. 14, 6 pm to Aug. 16, 5 am.

During Shravana, the fifth month of the Hindu calendar, which is considered to be the holiest month for devotees, particularly on Saturdays, large number of devotees visit the Vishnu temples to have darshan. Every year, devotees in large numbers throng Vontikoppal Temple to have darshan and offer prayers.
