Environment Day: BAI to host month-long celebrations

Mysuru: Builders Association of India (BAI), Mysuru Centre, along with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), Mysuru  Chapter, will be organising World Environment Month-2017 from tomorrow.

Addressing press persons at Patrakarthara Bhavan this morning, BAI Mysuru Chairman S. Mahadevaswamy said that the event will be inaugurated by Dr. T.V. Ramachandra, Co-ordinator of Energy and Welfare Research Group (EWRG), Centre of Ecological Sciences, IISc (Bengaluru) at a function to be held at Nityostava Convention Hall near Ballal Circle at 6.30 pm. Later, Film-maker turned environmentalist Mansoor Khan will deliver the keynote address.

Events include: An evening with Icons (June 9), Green Day with home-makers (June 15), Green Treasure Hunt, massive tree planting at Udboor (June 15), drawing contest on Global Warming (June 18), My Green expo (June 24-25), Green event for farmers (June 21) and green route cycling (June 28) and trekking to Bheemanakandi (July 2).

BAI Mysuru Centre Secretary Ratna Raj, IGBC Mysuru Chapter Chairman M.G. Somashekar were present.
