Establishment of Customer Service Point: Man loses Rs. 1.10 lakh to fraudster

Mysore/Mysuru: A man from T. Narasipur has lost a total sum of Rs. 1.10 lakh after he applied online to establish a Customer Service Point (CSP) of a  Nationalised Bank.

The man, who lost his money, is 32-year-old Rajendra, a resident of Vinayaka Colony in T. Narasipur.

Rajendra, who wanted to establish a CSP of a Nationalised Bank, searched for the same in Google and found a website with the address https://digitalcspindia.com. After clicking on the website link, the webpage opened asking Rajendra to fill up the online form.

After uploading the filled in form online, Rajendra received a call on his phone from one Satish, who asked Rajendra to deposit Rs. 10,500 for opening the CSP besides stating that he (Rajendra) would be sent a CSP kit once the money is deposited.

Satish also told Rajendra that three Bank officials would come and train him on maintaining the CSP besides sending him the details of the Bank account to which he (Rajendra) has to deposit the money.

Believing Satish, Rajendra deposited Rs. 10,500 to the bank account on May 30. After two days, Satish again called Rajendra and told him that he has got Rs. 10 lakh as OOD for which he (Rajendra) has to remit 10 percent of the total OOD amount. He then got Rs. 1 lakh transferred from Rajendra.

But on June 2, Rajendra received a message on his phone stating that there was a due of Rs. 90,000 for GST which was to be paid. Sensing something fishy, Rajendra went to the Nationalised Bank and enquired about it, during which he came to know that the website was a fake one and he was cheated.

Rajendra has lodged a complaint at Cyber, Economic and Narcotics (CEN) Crime Police Station in city.
