Events at Kodava Samajas must follow COVID-19 protocols

Madikeri: With a sudden surge in the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, those organising marriages and  other functions at Kodava Samajas across the district  have been asked to  strictly follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.

In a press release, President of the Federation of Kodava Samajas, Kallichanda Vishnu Cariappa, who is also the President of Kutta Kodava Samaja, said that the number of people attending any function taking place at Kodava Samajas should not exceed the number stipulated by the Government.

Also it is mandatory for the organisers to produce prior permission letter from local authorities and the Police. Pointing out that the organisers of the function will alone be held responsible for any violation of COVID-19 protocols, Vishnu Cariappa said that it is very important to follow SOPs issued by the Government to control the spread of the virus, which has caused havoc across the country.

He further said that people should voluntarily follow precautionary and safety measures such as wearing of face mask, following of physical distancing and maintenance of hand hygiene, among others.
