The heritage city of Mysuru has been a socio-cultural hub not only for Indians but for foreigners also for a distinctly long period of time.
The city frequently hosts a number of events on various topics of interests such as dance, drama, music, food, etc. But the citizens were in need of a portal which houses the events happening in the city, so that they can keep themselves updated.
A group of enthusiastic students from the National Institute of Engineering (NIE) in city have developed an android app, named Eventsea, which contains all the relevant information regarding the events happening in and around Mysuru. The app also contains the list of stores, of all different categories and the offers related to the products of the respective stores.
The Eventsea app was recently launched by chief guests M. K. Somashekar, MLA, R. Guru, Chairman, NR Group, M. J. Ravikumar, Mayor, D. T. Prakash, Industrialist and Dr. R. Gopalakrishna Urs, Principal-in-charge of NIE.
Speaking on the occasion, Somashekar said that people are aware of what is happening around the world but not the happenings around them.
He emphasised the fact that everyone confines themselves to mobile phones because of its capabilities and Eventsea’s initiative would really be beneficial to everyone.
Pradyumna, CEO of Eventsea and an 8th semester student of Computer Science & Engineering Branch at NIE, said that the inability to find all the events under various categories happening in Mysuru led him to start this venture.
Rajgopal, Director, Eventsea, Supreeth V. Kashyap, CFO, Eventsea, S.Lokesh,Technical Advisor, Eventsea, M.J. Yogesh, Technical Advisor, Eventsea, Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, Mentor, Eventsea and Varada Simhan, Financial Advisor for the Start-Up were present during the app launch.
