Stating that every citizen of the country should be aware of his/her fundamental duties in a democracy, Principal District and Sessions Judge PGM Patil, who is also the Chairman of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), regretted that the situation is otherwise, as most of the people are failing in their duties. He was speaking after inaugurating a seminar on ‘Fundamental Duties’ jointly organised by the DLSA, Department of Information and Public Relations, Maharani’s Arts College for Women and Mysuru Bar Association at the College premises here yesterday.
Underlining the need for respecting our country’s Freedom Struggle, the Judge said that it was most important to safeguard our country’s supremacy among democratic countries. Emphasizing on the need for upholding human values and carrying forward the country’s rich heritage and traditions, he called upon the citizens to contribute their mite for comprehensive growth of the country and strengthening the country’s frontiers.
DLSA Member-Secretary and Senior Civil Judge C.G. Mohammed Muzeerulla, Bar Association President G.V. Ramamurthy, College Principal Prof. B.T. Vijay, faculty Prof. Bharathi, former UoM Registrar Prof. C. Basavaraju and Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Legal Studies and Research Centre Head A.M. Bhaskar were present.
