Ex-CM Siddharamaiah to get Cabinet rank status

Bengaluru: Even as reports of former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah holding parleys with his supporter MLAs and disgruntled Congress leaders at Dharmasthala, where he is undergoing health rejuvenation, have emerged, CM H.D. Kumaraswamy, in an apparent bid to douse the reported discontentment brewing in the JD(S)-Congress coalition government, is said to have decided to make the Co-ordination Committee between the two parties an official one by granting Cabinet rank status to the ex-CM, who is the Chairman of the Committee.

Kumaraswamy is said to be planning to accord Cabinet rank status to Siddharamaiah, who is currently heading the Co-ordination Committee, with a government order on Monday, by making his (Siddu) position as the Chairman of the Co-ordination Committee, that is presently concerned with the two parties on running the government, an official one.

As head of the Co-ordination Committee, Siddharamaiah has already been granted a chamber in Vidhana Soudha and the order which is likely to be issued on Monday, is aimed at making the ex-CM very much a part of the Government it is learnt.
