Ex-Mayor dares Pejawar Mutt Seer for a debate on Constitution

Mysuru: Criticising Pejawar Mutt Seer Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji for his comments on the Constitution and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, former Mayor Purushottam said that the Seer was trying to divide the Society.

Addressing a press meet here on Monday, Purushottam, who is also Dalit leader, alleged that the Seer, by stating that the Constitution is not providing benefits to some classes in society and that the Constitution was not drafted by Dr. Ambedkar alone, had insulted the architect of the Constitution Dr. Ambedkar.

Accusing Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of instigating Dalits and testing their patience, Purushottam warred that if the Seer continues to come up with such insulting statements on the Constitution and Dr. Ambedkar, it may be even difficult for the Seer to set his foot in the city.

Asserting that he was ready for a debate with the Seer, the ex-Mayor said that the Seer   might be losing his mental balance due to old age.

Maintaining that the Seer’s comments are an insult to the nation and not just the Constitution, he said that everyone of us should question the   Seer for his stand.

The former Mayor also dubbed the Dharma Sansad held at Udupi recently was an attempt to divide the nation on religious lines.
