Mysuru: Former Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha has appealed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to create more entry and exit points wherever required on 10-lane Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway and also enhance security for ensuring safety of motorists.
The ex-MP met NHAI Regional Officer V.P. Brahmankar at Bengaluru yesterday and held discussions with him regarding the development works of the Highway and ensuring more security for motorists. During the meeting, Simha sought an increase in the number of entry and exit points and enhance security measures for prevention of crimes that occur on Highways, especially during night.
He demanded widening of Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway at the entry near Pachamukhi Ganapathi Temple, which will facilitate easing of traffic bottlenecks, repair of damaged sections of security fence along both sides of the Highway, adequate measures for preventing unauthorised entry to the Highway and more security measures for ensuring safety of travellers.
After hearing Simha, Brahmankar assured that necessary measures will be taken for addressing the issues raised, on a priority basis.
