Mysuru:  Regretting the decline in service mindedness among youth and students, former Assembly Speaker Krishna has observed that the current generation needs proper guidance on social service and human values.

He was speaking at ‘Attiguppe Geleyara Balaga’ inaugural function organised at Vidyaranyapuram Vokkaligara Sangha here on Sunday.

Bemoaning that money has overtaken any other things in life, Krishna said that these days only the rich were being felicitated, while social workers and activists are being ignored.

Underlining the need for properly  guiding the youth, he expressed concern over ‘Mummy-Daddy’ culture creeping even to villages.

Observing that the day may not be far off when distressed farmers have to end life, unable to bear the fees in private schools, he highlighted the role of teachers in educating the children on the way forward in enriching our heritage and culture.

National Education Awardee Dr. A.C. Sannaswamygowda was felicitated on the occasion.

Attiguppe Geleyara Balaga President A.M. Shyamesh, Jainhalli Sathyanarayanagowda, Padmesh, Vijaykumar and others were present.
